At OzOpals, we make it easy and secure to buy opals online with complete peace of mind. This page explains our opal payment and delivery policy, including available payment methods, shipping details, insurance coverage, and delivery timelines — whether you’re purchasing a gemstone or subscribing to the OzOpal Pricing Tool.

 

Accepted Payment Methods

All payments are processed in Australian Dollars (AUD). If you’re purchasing from outside Australia, your currency will be automatically converted to AUD by PayPal, your credit provider, or eWay. For current exchange rates, visit www.xe.com.

OzOpals accepts the following payment methods:

  • PayPal (preferred) – Processed via secure third-party gateway. OzOpals does not see or store your card details.
  • Credit Cards – We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Bankcard, and JCB. All transactions are SSL encrypted.
  • Phone Payments – Prefer personal service? Call us to pay over the phone.
  • Bank Deposit (EFT) – Transfer funds directly to our Business Account. Contact us to receive banking details.

 

Layby & Payment Plans

OzOpals offers flexible payment solutions, allowing you to layby opal items over an 8-week period. A 20% deposit is required upfront. Please contact us directly to arrange a custom payment schedule that suits your needs.

 

Our Delivery Policy

We take exceptional care in packaging and shipping your opal purchase. All items are securely wrapped and shipped with full insurance coverage.

  • Free shipping: All orders over $600 AUD receive free shipping as our thank-you.
  • Orders under $600: Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.

We aim to keep you updated throughout the process — from payment to delivery.

Domestic Shipping (Australia):

Orders are shipped via Registered Post with full insurance and signature-on-delivery required. For urgent orders, please contact us before purchasing to discuss express options.

Christmas Deliveries: Please allow extra time for shipping during the holiday period.

International Shipping:

International orders are fully insured against loss, theft, or damage. All deliveries require a signature upon arrival.

High-value items are shipped via FedEx or courier. Final shipping options can be discussed based on your location.

Standard-value items are shipped via insured airmail. Although tracking is not available, delivery is still signature-required and fully insured.

Note for Indonesian Orders: Due to high rates of credit card fraud, we hold all Indonesia-bound items for a short verification period before dispatch.

Import Duties & Taxes: Any import duties or VAT are the responsibility of the buyer.

Within Australia: 

  • Same city/town: Next business day.

  • Major towns in same state: 1–3 business days.

  • Interstate (e.g., Sydney to Melbourne): 2–5 business days.

  • Remote areas: 4–6 business days.

International:

  • USA & Canada: 5–10 business days.

  • UK: 5–10 business days.

  • New Zealand: 4–5 business days.

  • Indonesia: 5–7 business days (see note above).

  • Singapore: 3–5 business days.

  • Europe: 5–10 business days.
